⛩️ Kamakura Excursion Trip: Friday, 24 April 2026
After the Yokohama program, we will be running an optional one-day tour of Kamakura for those who wish to participate.
Spending some mindful time in the ancient capital of Kamakura, such as Zazen at a temple in Kitakamakura, and enjoy the time in nature to reflect on the program.

Date: Friday, 24 April 2026
Time: 9:10-17:30 (Meet directly at Kita-Kamakura Station)
Capacity: 30 people
Optional Tour Price: 20,000yen
(Price includes: Transportation during the tour, Zazen activity and Admission fee and some guided tour for temples, Lunch, Talk by Dr Tanaka, Tour coordination fee etc.)
*Please pay on Day1 of the Yokohama Program by cash only)
*Please note that cancellations made on or after April 15 will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

| 9:30 I 11:30 | →Visit Enkaku-ji Temple for Zazen meditation →Enjoy the garden at the temple | At Enkaku-ji, one of the most important Zen temples in Kamakura, participants will experience Zazen meditation. The session includes not only seated meditation, but also walking meditation, chanting, and short moments of reflection and dialogue. After the Zazen experience, there will be time to take a relaxing walk around the temple grounds. |

| Lunch | Lunch at WITH KAMAKURA (Cafe at Japanese traditional house) | Lunch menu to be chosen beforehand We will enjoy lunch at WITH Kamakura, where seasonal dishes made with fresh local ingredients are served in a traditional Japanese setting. |
| 14:00 | Meet up with Dr Tanaka, Keio University | After lunch, Professor Tanaka (Keio University) will give us a presentation and we will learn about Kamakura as a city of circular economy. |
| 15:30 | Walk to Kotokuin Temple with Kamakura Daibutsu (Great Buddha of Kamakura) | We will visit Kotoku-in, home to the Great Buddha of Kamakura, one of Japan’s most famous bronze statues. |
| 16:30 | Move back to Kamakura Station. | |
| 17:00 | Dissolution (own transportation to go back to Yokohama etc.) | After dissolution, you can enjoy shopping and street food, especially along Komachi Street, one of Kamakura’s most famous streets. |
